Not at all. Solar Siphon clips have a strong grip to the module frame and does not move when the modules are being cleaned. Even with robots, automated cleaning machines, rotating brushes or classic brushes for manual cleaning.
Absolutely. Solar Siphon allows all the cleaning machines to easily slide its brushes and not move or damage the clips. Solar Siphon is made to last by design!
Solar Siphon clips are available in all standard frame sizes: 30mm, 32mm, 35mm, 40mm and 45mm. Simply measure the thickness of the frame and order accordingly. Let us know when you want to order in bulk and request a quote for better prices and shipping.
When it rains, due to the slight projection of the edge of the panels, the stagnant water is not drained away in time, and the mud in the stagnant water precipitates to soiling the edges or the corners of the modules. The accumulation of dirt in the panels edge or in the corners, can have dramatic consequences on the proper functioning of the photovoltaic system, it reduces photovoltaic panel power generation, and will form hot spots effect, reducing the service life of panels.
The Solar Siphon™ is a self-fastening clip, made of durable pvc with UV-protective additives. When you clamp the Solar Siphon clip to the bottom edge of the PV panel, the stagnant water with the dirt will flow away.
The soiling bands left behind by that stagnant water will lower the output of the modules and are a potential risk for water ingression causing defect cells, or they even create hot-spots which will drastically reduce the expected lifetime of your investment.
First, make the whole surface of the PV panels clean. Next, clasp at least 1 or 2 clips to the bottom edge of the panels , one in every corner, 1 in the middle or on the side where the soiling bands are the worst. (depends on the tilt/level of the solar installation)
When it rains again, there will be no mud zone left behind.
Make sure to never step on the panels when installing the clips!
